The Bella Vista Bronco Booster Club is pleased to offer scholarships to graduating seniors who have participated in high school athletics and/or performing arts at Bella Vista high school.
In order to apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Not be a recipient of another scholarship for the university or community college they are planning to attend in excess of 50% of the school's annual expenses (tuition, fees, books, room and board), and
Applicant must be a paid member of the Bella Vista Booster Club by April 30th.
Applications are submitted entirely online. Applicants will be required to sign in to a Google account to submit an application. Students may sign in with their school account (which is a Google account) or a personal Google account.
Applicants must provide the following information:

Applicants are required to identify the athletic and/or performing arts programs in which they participated for each year of attendance at Bella Vista. While participation in both sports or performing arts will meet the application criteria, applicants do NOT need to have participated in both.
Applicants are encouraged to list any special roles, achievements, awards, accolades or recognition they received for participation. For example:
Qualified for cross country Sections as a Sophomore
Cast as lead role in Spring musical as a Junior
Performed as a Soloist in Winter concert as Junior
Varsity basketball team captain as a Senior
All-league in volleyball as a Senior
Drum major as Senior
Applicants must submit a typed essay of AT LEAST 100 words and NO MORE than 500 words. The essay must address at least one of the following prompts - and may include more than one prompt if desired:
How athletics and/or performing arts has prepared you for life after of high school
Personal growth or learning events from your participation in athletics/performing arts
Your goals and interests
Future educational plans
We recommend that the essay be written in advance in a Word or Google document and then copied/pasted into the scholarship application. In addition to providing useful helps like grammar and spell-checking, applicants will also be able to easily track the length of their essay to ensure it falls within the 100 to 500 word limit.
As the Booster Club desires to provide assistance to a diverse population, graduating seniors who have been awarded more than 50 percent of the university/college's annual expense in other scholarships are not eligible for the Bella Vista Booster Club Scholarship. Annual expense includes tuition, fees, books, room, and board.
This restriction applies only to scholarships that have been awarded to the applicant prior to receipt of the Bella Vista Booster Club Scholarship. If scholarships have been applied for but not awarded, those scholarships would not disqualify an applicant from consideration of this scholarship.
Applications must be submitted by midnight on April 30th.
Although an application may be submitted at any point during the school year, applicants are encouraged to wait until at least January in order to provide the most up-to-date information as possible in their application.
A member of the scholarship committee will review each application to ensure all criteria are met. If clarification or additional information is needed, the applicant and/or their parent/legal guardian will be contacted.
The committee will evaluate applications based on the following elements:
Accomplishments and participation within athletics/performing arts. and
Personal essay, and
Cumulative weighted GPA for all four years.
Scholarships will be awarded at the Senior Awards night (generally held in late May). The quantity and amount of scholarships awarded will vary each year based on the general membership of the Booster Club.
Please contact a member of the Booster Club's board for any questions relating to this scholarship. You may contact a board member in person by attending a Booster Club meeting (where visitors are always welcome) or via email at board@bvbroncosports.org.
