Play On! is the hilarious story of a local theatre group trying desperately to put on a play despite maddening interference from the haughty playwright, who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Murder Most Foul; Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal; and the final act is the actual performance, in which anything that can go wrong does. When the author decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax and a thoroughly hilarious romp. Even the sound effects reap their share of laughter.

Wendy Carey has been sharing her love of music and the performing arts with students at Bella Vista High School and Carnegie Middle School for many years as a choir teacher. More recently, she stepped into Bella Vista’s drama program as the Musical Theater teacher, bringing plenty of stage experience with her!
Over the years, Wendy has been involved in many Bella Vista productions as a director, choreographer, and musical director, and she’s no stranger to being in the spotlight herself. She also loves performing onstage whenever she gets the chance.
When she’s not teaching, directing, or performing, Wendy loves spending time with her husband, their three kids, and, of course, her dogs.
Theater is so much more than putting on a show. It’s a place where students learn, create, collaborate, and discover what they’re capable of. Through theater, students build confidence, communication and problem-solving skills, learn the value of teamwork and commitment, and experience firsthand what it takes to bring an idea from the page to the stage.
Whether they’re performing under the lights or working behind the scenes, every student plays an important role. Along the way, they build friendships, find community, take creative risks, and develop skills that reach far beyond the theater. And while they’re learning and growing, they get to make a little magic together, too.
